IIUC USB 4 has two variables power and bandwidth and few feature flags like display port. Why isn't it a requirement to lost the value of these explicitly on packaging/listings? That would solve most of the practical problems, yeah we may have to stop buying cheap/unbranded cables but branded ones would be easy to choose. Thunderbolt provides easy but costly branding for high end.
