I read that they found alfalfa will grow in lunar regolith, which can then be tilled under to fertilize it so that other more edible things like potatoes and corn might be able to grow in it. It is pretty similar to crop rotation that way. You can be fairly certain that some of the first experiments will be about fertilizing and growing there.
