Snapchat abandons its Web3 plans
- Comevius 4y agoI imagine what a web3 team could do in a large company like that. Sit around trying to figure out what the hell is web3, and why should we care when the market doesn't most likely. Obviously the company couldn't just ignore it, but it looks like the FOMO is over now. I can see AR happening on the other hand. Apple might end up figuring that one out.

- hammyhavoc 4y agoLol did you see PRS (the performing rights org) getting into NFTs? So late to the party, and so adamant that it's the fUtUrE.
- coder4life 4y agoUnfortunately the site is going through some hiccups
- osigurdson 4y agoIt feels like the logical place to start with web3 is something like github. There are services like this based on Arweave and perhaps other blockchains but they haven't really taken off I don't think.
- pcthrowaway 4y agoI haven't looked into it too much, but there's a project called Radicle that looks interesting (though, as someone who works in the industry, I reserve a high degree of skepticism for any decentralized project that involves a token)
- osigurdson 4y agoWouldn’t a token be necessary but in the sense that a “game” needs to be created which establishes the right incentive structure for the ecosystem to thrive?
