I get a lot of well intentioned but completely useless advice. Usually quotes that are best printed on posters with cats hanging off a branch.
> The hostility in your message felt bad and, and as someone who desires to help, hurt my feelings a little. For what purpose?
It's unfortunate you felt that way, but if you feel targeted by this things are probably going pretty well for you so my message worked as intended, you are not the audience I want to solicit suggestions and feedback from.
I'm trapped at a dead-end retail job doom scrolling through job boards. I don't expect to see much new posted over the holiday weekend. I feel a sense of overwhelming anxiety and anger and I am literally exploding with anxiety and nowhere to direct it.
And I'll be back here tomorrow, 10-6 every fucking day for the next five days.
- metadat 4y agoUnsolicited advice in case your intent isn't to drag others down: Ask for what you want specifically (e.g. advice relevant to you that wouldn't be posted on a motivational billboard), rather than lashing out at "all even remotely successful people". People who are hurt tend to be the ones to hurt others, passing it along like a virus. Please don't fall into perpetuating this sad, ugly stereotype. I'd like to think you wouldn't knowingly do so on purpose.
