Yes that is yet true, there are some examples in soccer like Ibrahimovic (mentioned by another commenter) or even Christiano Ronaldo. However they are in on a constant decline as they get older... The only soccer players that are still good while getting at an old age are goalkeepers, but the explanation there is simple, they rarely need to run :)
