Windows also has a bunch of protections against modifying the kernel. Ironically this wasn't done to defend against malware but to defend against _antivirus vendors_ patching the kernel and making the system unstable.
- bayindirh 4y agoAh, thanks for reminding that. They've removed a bunch of hook redirection facilities IIRC, and all hell broke loose. I'm not using Windows as an operating system close to a decade, so I forget (or don't know) things like that.
