I’m not assuming anything about the thoughts and opinions of any spouse of any justice. Do you have any evidence or example of Justice Thomas changing his vote because of his wife’s opinion? Or do you think that marital influence fundamentally compromises the independence of his opinion, so it’s safe to assume that he agrees with her on any matter that comes before the court? And if that’s your position, then why are you only worried about the spouse of one particular justice? Should we check what Jane Roberts texts her friends about the 2nd amendment? Maybe we need confirmation hearings for Supreme Court spouses.
