If hundreds of millions care about it, it would make more sense for the government to keep it as a focal point for the population during economic crises instead of actually invading it.
- DiogenesKynikos 4y agoIf the US takes steps to formally recognize Taiwan, it will be politically impossible for the Chinese government not to react extremely forcefully.
- Bakary 4y agoI agree. I just think it's a missed opportunity for the government to keep the status quo indefinitely.
