This is actually an interesting illustration of how infectious a name can be. If they hadn't called it OpenAI, the conversion from open to corporate would be much easier, where's now it's a significant pain point in OpenAI's reputation. It's kinda nice to see the original vision still somewhat having an effect despite no one left to propagate it.
