I agree, saying "crypto is here to stay" is not much more than wishful thinking. But when enough people repeat the same thing, it can give the illusion that this line was backed by solidly architected reasoning at some point in the past, and that we reached consensus on the long-term viability. But AFAIK, we're still far from a consensus in this field.
