- SketchySeaBeast 4y agoI would imagine it's also 2nd order effects on the health system - delayed diagnosis, treatments, and surgeries. Full ER rooms means stroke patients don't get seen as fast, reluctance to interact with the medical system means treatment isn't sought, and devoting large swaths of hospitals to COVID patients means the "not an issue now but will be in a year" conditions aren't dealt with. I doubt many of these effects were avoidable, but it's still unfortunate.
- PeterStuer 4y agoCould be, but as it turned out Covid deaths have been significantly overattributed, so that would been a vast reversal.
