When I was a desktop tech, visiting a user with a problem, I carried a laser pointer with me. I could point to elements on the screen without getting my fingerprints on the glass and without invading the user's personal space. Laser pointers are pretty much useless on LCD. Not that I would ever go back; but it was a nice feature at the time.
