Well, GS has drawn their line in the sand. No clue what "bankers" do as that's not my gig. But there's IT people in there somewhere, I assume, and those are the ones I'd be concerned about - it's a good time for them to find alternate work. Those keeping systems running don't strike me as customer-facing personnel, and we'll see whether GS sees them as important or merely the low-level peons that just get in the way.
Oh, I assume GS has had horrible quarters since Covid since nobody has been in the office? Cuz if they didn't, it's power-trips and real estate talkin'.
- xwolfi 4y agoYou do know how much they pay right ?
- jleyank 4y agoThere’s a name for people who are just in it for the money. Several actually. Why read hacker news, then? Looking for the next scheme?
- ratsmack 4y agoI would think that the vast majority of people have a job "just for the money", or am I missing something.
- toomuchtodo 4y agoOne can be both curious and a mercenary. The money pays for indulging the habit.
- tarte-au-poire 4y agoI think so? At least for my band. It’s not much different than any finance startup on the east coast.
