The fastest electric unicycle in the world can surpass 87mph
- Someone 4y agoFTA: ”Worried about safety? No need. The V13 is equipped with 90 mm (3.5 inches) of suspension travel that allows riders to tackle bumps on the streets smoothly even at high speeds.” Bumps aren’t the only worry. Decelerating rapidly without falling over will be challenging, and “don’t do that” isn’t always an option in traffic. The linked-to article (https://electrek.co/2022/08/14/inmotion-unveils-fastest-in-the-world-87-mph-v13-challenger-electric-unicycle/ https://electrek.co/2022/08/14/inmotion-unveils-fastest-in-t...) is much more realistic: “At those speeds, “death-defying” might be optimistic terminology. To keep it reasonably safe at higher speeds, the V13 includes 90 mm (3.5 inches) of suspension travel. That should come in handy when riders hit bumps at high speeds.”
- danboarder 4y agoI ride an EUC that has a top speed of around 30mph, it's a couple years old (a Tesla V2) and the current crop (prior to the model in the article) are all capable of 45mph or so. I feel safe on mine and ride in urban traffic, and everyone I know that rides is very safety conscious.
