- MrWiffles 4y agoBupropion is Welbutrin, not buspar. Just to clarify. Buspar is buspirone.
- kirsebaer 4y agoThis is DXM, a dissociative like ketamin, found in cough medications like Robotussin. You can get quite high on it.
- MrWiffles 4y agoSo it's Wellbutrin and cough syrup, seriously? Could this be as simple as getting a Wellbutrin RX and taking it with cough suppressant? Surely...surely not?
- sterlind 4y agoyes, theoretically. the wrinkles are: finding a cough syrup that's pure DXM, and if they're doing anything fancy with extended release (I don't think so, but worth checking.) your best bet is getting a compounding pharmacy to make the tablets for you, if your insurance doesn't cover this and it's too expensive out-of-pocket.
- tsol 4y agoBasically. At most they'll add a time release mechanism to release them at certain rates. Well if it works, it works
- MrWiffles 4y agoWow. And you know they're probably going to charge something like a $1000 bucks a pill for that too ;-)
- ncmncm 4y agoBupropion works very fast by itself, where it works at all. Most likely people who benefit from bupropion get no benefit from the DXM, and vice versa. So maybe this is supposed to be a scattershot to try two things that might work. If it comes back after a week without, it was the BUP that worked, otherwise the DXM.
- joshu 4y agoThe bup has a modifier effect on the dxm. The fact that it is also an antidepressant is not the main driver.
