California to install solar panels over canals to fight drought, a first in US
- lukas099 4y agoI wonder what the cost is of building and maintaining solar panels over water, compared to building them somewhere else and building a simple canopy over the canals.
- gbronner 4y agoIf the design is good, this should be cost effective unless the canal requires maintenance. The footings are there, there are no pesky weeds to grow and block the canal, the workers probably don't have to worry as much about rattlesnakes etc
- foxyv 4y agoIt's a California public utilities project. It's going to cost a BOATLOAD no matter what.
