- smsm42 4y agoI had it happen to me once - somebody washed my check (i.e. removed the original sum and payee and replaced it with larger sum and different payee) and tried to cash it. The bank called me, because the check looked weird, I said "huh? never heard of those" and they refused to cash. Unfortunately, the fraudster promptly run away from the bank - or so they told me - so that's where the thing ended.
