Personally, I think it's silly that we put glass on smartphones that cracks easily, and is tough to scratch, then we put another piece of glass on top of that that cracks easily and is tough to scratch. It would make more sense (to me) to put a soft plastic screen on our phones that scratches easily, sure, but is tough to crack. Then we can put a glass screen protector on top that is tough to scratch, and we don't really care if it cracks because it cost $10 and can easily be taken off. And what happened to screen protectors that actually covered the whole screen? It's been almost a decade since the curved screen fad killed those, but they still haven't come back.
