Isn't this the whole business model of SV in the last 20 years? Dump huge amounts of money into non-profitable companies with the hopes that someone will buy them later.
- Enginerrrd 4y agoRealistically, I'd say it's been full swing for more like the last 15 years. ...But I think it's just not a viable long term strategy. During boom times, and when new technologies arise with significant disruption potential, it's not a bad strategy. But... I think it's naive to assume that model will work linearly forever. The economy ebbs and flows, and periods of innovation seems to as well.
