Laptop, desktop, chromebook, hardware support, doesn’t mean anything to me. For the past 8 years I’ve used nothing but virtual desktops. I connect to it from anywhere in the world on just about any device and I have my entire development environment available to me. I can spin up copies of it to try something out and then revert to a previous image. I can create full fidelity copies of it in minutes anytime I want to. I cannot imagine going back to using physical hardware directly on the desktop anymore than I could a server.
