Just curious, why isn't there positive news about China posted here?
For example, how about the fact that major Chinese cities are much safer than major US cities? No random person who can shoot you with a gun at any time. No homeless/drug addicts patrolling downtown. Girls can safely walk alone at night. No one is going to pick your pocket. No one is going to steal from your local Walgreens.
Or how about that their public subway system is so good, so clean, so efficient that the vast majority of people don't need cars? Thus, people there waste far less carbon than the typical American in transportation.
These are things that everyone here seem to advocate for. Why not post articles of all the good things happening over there? Surely, 1.4 billion people will generate at least a few positive articles in the US, right? Right....?
- verdverm 4y agoThe state of something is not as interesting as the why? What are the why's for these things? There are Chinese technical achievements posted here, but also consider HN is largely a Western audience.

- verdverm 4y agoI post what is interesting to me, what I think HN might find interesting. I suspect most operate this way. Thus, it seems reasonable to assume most here are not that interested in Chinese content. If you want to see it here, why don't you seek it out and share with the community?

- verdverm 4y agoWhile there is a lot of negative posts about the CCP, with good reasons for the negativity, what you say is not generally true, you are just being hyperbolic about it. I see posts about Chinese accomplishments fairly regularly You're aren't wrong that the most common type of story from China is like: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32641028 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32641028
