- johnday 4y agoIt is possible to generate electricity from sources other than fossil fuels. It is not possible to drive a combustion engine from sources other than fossil fuels (except in very rare circumstances). Removing fossil-fuel burning cars from the road reduces the national fuel burden, making the generation of electricity cheaper.
- acapybara 4y agoHow much electricity is generated from gasoline? Or petroleum?
- binbashthefash 4y agoYeah we totally need more heatwave causing emissions right now guy
- johnday 4y agoMany pieces of critical infrastructure (hospitals, for example) have enormous backup diesel generators, for one.
- pipodeclown 4y agoKey term in your comment bein 'back-up'.
- pipodeclown 4y agoThat's a pretty short termist comment.. this is part of the plan to tackle and reduce co2 emissions and has nothing to do with reducing overall costs.. besides, I don't know if you noticed but electricity is not the only form of energy which has skyrocketed in price, gas/diesel has is currently very expensive in Europe as well. Since your alternative (ice vehicle) has become proportionally as expensive, the cost benefit of electric cars still holds.
