How did Elon Musk have so many kids? I don't think he spent much time with them
Most conventional parents cannot do what Elon Musk is doing.

- Bostonian 4y agoYou have answered your question. Elon Musk can have so many kids because he is a very rich and famous man who "gets around", can financially support many households, and does not feel the need to spend much time with his offspring.
- GianFabien 4y agoExactly as in the animal kingdom, the alpha males get to spread their genes around. Peahens are impressed by the peacocks spectacular tail feathers. Human females are attracted to displays of wealth, power and fame. Elon does pretty well on those scores. Hence the numerous progeny.

- jstx1 4y agoThat lowers the bar from "alpha" to "non-incel". It's a low bar.
- DoreenMichele 4y agoGene Simmons has said he was with a different woman every night for some years. Someone asked him something like "So, like a thousand women?" And he was like "Oh, it had to be more." The internet tells me he has two children. This is not directly related to how many women someone sleeps with. There are men who spread themselves around without leaving a slew of children in their wake.

- bell-cot 4y agoFor a human male, "having kids" can be done in very little time. And there's no shortage of healthy, young human females who are (in effect) willing to trade away any serious considerations of paternal support & involvement in their child's life for "my kid's daddy is rich/powerful/famous".
- gregjor 4y ago“How” involves IVF leading to triplets and twins. One child born through surrogacy. Presumably two or three conceived the usual way. You can look it up online if you’re not sure how someone has ten children. I have three, my mom had seven. It’s not rocket science. His kids are spread out over almost 20 years, he’s not raising ten young children all at once. I don’t know how much time Musk spends with his children. I’m not a Musk fan as you can see by my comment history. But I think commenting on his children and commitment to them crosses a line. Clearly he can support his children and he seems to like kids. The mothers seem to have conceived or undergone IVF willingly. What’s your point in asking this question?
- DoreenMichele 4y agoI will add to this comment that a quick search indicates it's three women. Most of his children are from his first marriage. Assumptions made by commenters here that he sleeps around a lot, must not spend time with the kids, etc are unfounded and don't match what comes up with a quick search. I regret my earlier comment which implicitly agrees with such assumptions though I didn't actually say anything about the man, and that was intentional. It was a pedantic comment, a knee jerk reaction to stupid assumptions, and erred in the wrong direction.
