Debian Begins a General Resolution to Decide What to Do with Non-Free Firmware
- josephcsible 4y agoTo me, the question comes down to this: if you own a piece of hardware that doesn't work on Debian because it needs non-free firmware that isn't available on your installation, will you give up that piece of hardware in favor of one with free firmware, or will you give up Debian in favor of Windows? For most people, I expect the latter is more likely, so I think including the non-free firmware by default is the lesser of the evils.
