This stuff has been around for more that 30 years. What she really discovered, more than the putty, is a new way to market the stuff.

    There's a number of significant differences: - Curing via oxygen exposure makes mixing unnecessary, which is a bit more convenient - The cured material is elastic rather than rigid, which makes it more suited for many applications - It can be cut and removed more easily

  That's not the same thing at all; the epoxies harden to an inelastic compound, sugru hardens to a silicone rubber.
