Sure, this lock isn't the most amazing security, but almost ALL consumer grades locks in homes today are this bad or much worse, in many cases (looking at you, Defiant...). Also, if you're worried about criminals picking your lock, they're significantly more sophisticated than most criminals. In addition, it requires a special tool beyond just standard picks to get in (a thin, long shim), which limits your attack surface a bit.
