Ask HN: How to launch a product here?
Hello, I am Aliyu. I am getting ready to launch my startup and I would love to launch it here on HN. Please how do I go about this? I am new here and I believe this is the best place to launch, if I want honest reviews. I will be very grateful to get directions.
- verdverm 4y agoThere are some rough guidelines in the FAQ. In particular see "Show HN" but note this is for things users can try out typically. Don't over submit or be market/sales-y Pique HN's curiousity Keep in mind most submissions get little attention Check out previous show hn's to look for patterns, try searching for similar submissions, read comments It may be worthwhile to get a feel for HN but lurking and reading stories & comments more generally Do not ask others to upvote or comment Play the long game, submit blog posts showing how to do cool things with your project, add respectful and relevant comments with links to your project, always keep int mind that HN is full of curious learners and dislikes sales / marketing, generally speaking

- muzani 4y agoCareful with the long game. It's easy to tell when someone is just hanging around the community to sell something. And yeah, generally, people here are against the usual emotional marketing talk. Just say what it is, what problems it solves, why you did it. "Trackr: time tracking tool" works better than "Trackr: prevent procrastination and increase productivity"
