If you want to be untrackable and off grid why are you bringing your cell phone with you?
- samstave 4y agoThe idea is that airplane mode is a farce, and even if you put yourself into airplane, there is still a back-trickle... can anyone disclaim this? What are the anechoics of an airplane mode phone?
- snazz 4y agoYou can get a Faraday cage pouch if you really want to be sure.
- samstave 4y agoBUT, Assume Im technologically naked... global coverage allows drones with weapons to be 100% navigable over the entire planet.
- mlindner 4y agoNo I mean, there's a power button.
- samstave 4y agoEver heard of ILO? - Edit: And back doors, and Eschelon, and six degrees and a bunch of other things people dont want you to recall.
- AlotOfReading 4y agoThey should be identical to the typical spurious emissions standard. Airplane mode is a common way to quickly test spurious emissions before spending tens of thousands on an external lab to certify your device. I'm sure there's some sort of RF magic you could use to get range with 25uW radiated, but it sounds difficult and unnecessary when no one actually uses airplane mode in regular life.
- samstave 4y agoThe fn lame thing is that "airplane" refers to specifically baseband cell... wifi AND bluetooth do not apply to airplane mode.... Guess what the biggest RTLS radio thing-a-majigger BLUETOOTH - and BT pings, triangulation etc... Ever wonder why an iphone will tell you they "temporarily disabled bluetooth when you hit that switch for just 24 hours?? So they can re-enable (it was never disabled, you still have wifi on yes?) more accurate surveillance in 24 hours...
