I never got a good explanation as to what Heroku even is.
- jononor 4y agoPush your web application to their git endpoint and Heroku runs it for you. As long as you follow the best practices for your language it will just work. Python, Node.js, Ruby, Java, et.c. Two clicks in UI (or CLI commands, or configuration lines) and it will also run a database for your app. Same if you need a message broker. Searchable logs. Blob storage. Horizonal scaling? Drag a slider, single command. Heroku provides zero bullshit deployment.
