I think my "too-spicy-to-publish" comment would be the problem I personally see with it is that it can seem to quickly go from effective altruism -> efficient altruism. Or rather, in my case — "more effective" -> "most effective" — and that search for how to perfectly save the world has been driving me insane a bit. So how to keep it at the "more effective" level?
