He had the same problem in AMD+Windows. Things finally got better on a beta version of Windows. If he hadn't been using Linux, the entire experience would have been completely mysterious. Microsoft releases an update and problems magically go away. Not much of a blog post and not much to understand. The blog post ends with a plea to make problems easier to diagnose and understand, not with a plea for corporate monopolies to fix our problems for us.
