heh, the whole "Interviews go both ways" trope has never been more real. I konw a lot of fintech companies have pretty awful tech stacks, and antiquated practices. So those would be valid criticisms of a candidate, if relevant to the job. But honestly if someone is able to be productive in the toxic, bloated, ancient fintech environment I think that might impress me even more than excelling at a traditional tech company.
