A long time ago, I asked my high school chemistry teacher why we use hydrochloric acid instead of hydrofluoric acid. Wouldn't the stronger electronegativity of fluorine react more efficiently?
I'll never forget the answer she gave:
"I don't have time to attend that many funerals".
