IRC + Plex = automatic download of any content I want available for streaming on any device anywhere in the world. I still have Netflix (free with my mobile provider), Disney+ (free with my Internet provider) and Hulu (got Black Friday deal for $1 per month). Don’t really watch anything on any of those streaming services though.

Do you have any references/documentation for how the IRC side of this setup works?

I, too, am interested in learning more.

Most common method of using IRC is using the irssi client with autodl-irssi typically done on a seedbox. Everyone's setup is different though. https://autodl-community.github.io/autodl-irssi/ https://autodl-community.github.io/autodl-irssi/

Use any IRC client - I use MIRC on Windows. Join a good IRC network - I use Abjects. Subscribe to the shows and movies you want to automatically download, one of their bots sends you files as they are posted. Write a script to copy them to the appropriate folder that Plex monitors.
