This sounds like a YOU problem. I used to drink in my 20s and gave it up at age 30. I have no problem asking for a Diet Coke or whatever non-alcoholic drink I want. Insecurity doesn't even enter into my mind. Furthermore, I still "go get drinks" with coworkers all the time. They don't care if I don't order alcohol. It's about camaraderie and building rapport, not the liquid in your glass.
