Doom scrolling and TV are pretty much the same thing. The blame shouldn't be on the device, but rather on passive consumption. Kids learning the alphabet on TV, or using educational software on computer isn't the same as watching Scooby Doo all or mindlessly watching YT videos all afternoon. The same goes for adult activities. People may or may not agree, but I always thought the obsession with taking pictures of nearly every meal and sharing them publicly, is already demonstrating a prematurely aging mind. It's wild to see people get so disappointed if nobody comments. The onus is on friends and family to act like they've been deprived of reasonable food, and only you have the amazing cooking or restaurant ordering skills. Every. Day.
