I think it's crap in spots and noise has been going up for years. But after 14 years there, I don't have a decent alternative to it.
Other than HN, what's your alternative?
- sph 4y agoYou'll laugh but... Something Awful. Never used it back in the day, but there's something reassuring in memeing and talking about stuff with people in their 30s and 40s in a traditional forum, instead of college teens and astroturfed accounts in a competition of who can get the most karma. That and a few other hobby specific forums that managed to stay alive until today.
