I also never had keyboard issues but mine was 2015 Gen 1. I know a couple of people who got the 2016? Or 2017? Model and their keyboard had some issues with keys not registering. That form factor with m1/2 would be awesome! Especially to use in bed cos the screen was so nice and it was so light.
