Does it really do SSB reasonably well? The reviews remind me a bit of my HRD-737 which doesn't "have" SSB, but that doesn't always seem to stop its wide-open receiver. :-) If the general experience of using the radio is similar at all I'd hesitate to pull the trigger at the price. Not that it wouldn't be fun to play with! Around the same price point I would tend to go with the PL-368 for example...
