- semessier 4y agofull circle now: after declarative was the future for quite some time this is mixed imperative-declarative. That's understandable as for when actually using declarative languages things can quickly get awkward with common constructs such as loops and iterators (Ansible?), so that's a natural progression maybe. The imperative (Python i.a.) mixed with declarative might actually be a good way forward, provided conventions are created to keep things readable across coding styles.
