“central question in Brenna Hassett’s book, put simply, is: why are our children so very useless for so very long?” I’m shocked at how obtuse the author must be to not see the value in children, perhaps overlooking the “use” children have in sculpting parents and meeting the needs of children and the net effects that has on society and the economy? (Or maybe that’s what the book really is about, I haven’t read it.)
