Someone added a front end wrapper for GNU software NzbGet to sell on Play Store

  The author wrote a frontend around the NzbGet program and is selling and passing it of as their own. Is this allowed?

    They don't even have to write a frontend. GPL allows you to directly profit off of selling GPL software as long as you make proper attributions.

  Selling GPL software is fine. What's not fine is when you don't give attribution or release your own code under the GPL too.

  Two things should be ascertained: if the front-end is statically linked to NzbGet making it a derivative of the latter and if the developer supplies the source code upon request.
