Apple employees launch petition to protest return-to-office plans

- Maursault 4y agoMaybe Apple isn't perfect, but seems to me in this case they've been very patient and accommodating, and the employees in question seem to show massive entitlement to still want paid while not showing up to work regular hours, risking unemployment without a decent reference. >> Why did you leave your last job? > It was intolerable. Apple insisted I show up for work! Can you believe that? >> Thanks for your time. We'll call you. I expect Apple will be hiring.
- danny_codes 4y agoAnother angle is that these workers know they have decent leverage. It's still a workers market in software. Kudos to these guys for asking for what they want.
- Maursault 4y agoThey're not asking. They're demanding. That's entitlement. And if there's a big problem at Apple already, it's the decline in software quality and usability. You really think these whiners have leverage? They fired Forestall and Ives. They had leverage.
- Apocryphon 4y agoWhat is the difference between asking and demanding, in this case? > You really think these whiners have leverage? What makes this whining, and not asking? And strength in numbers. Powerful individuals aren't exactly the same as dozens, if not hundreds, if not more. And Ive wasn't fired. He left at a natural time.
- GoToRO 4y agoI love it when tech companies push their 100% online products onto other people, but they refuse to work online themselves.
