I think Apple is just not interested anymore in selling general computing. It's not where the big dollars are. It's not that general computing isn't worth doing right. Many people still need to create deep content instead of consuming it or at best create some mindless tiktok nothingness. And it illustrates the problem with opinionated design. If the designer's opinions don't correspond to your own, it's not useful anymore.
