Renewable Energy Is a Scam
- oifjsidjf 4y agoSolar power is renewable but solar panels are not. Wind power is renewable but wind turbines are not. Batteries sound good but modern ones are very toxic and hard to recycle. >> As of 2019, the recycling of Li-Ion batteries in most cases does not extract lithium since lithium-ion battery technology continuously changes and processes to recycle these batteries can thus be outdated in a couple of years.[21] Extraction of lithium from old batteries is five times more expensive than mined lithium https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battery_recycling https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battery_recycling So nuclear and fossil fuel/gas seems to be the best way to go until fusion is here. Building large solar or windmill warms will only take up tons of resources and they require maintaince which requires even more resources: all of this resource waste for something that gives sub-par power output and is unreliable.
- stop50 4y agoDo you know were the french people get currently the power from? German solar and wind powerplants.
- gardenfelder 4y agoThat analysis doesn't feel like it's addressing the problem. It's one thing to point out that technology X is, itself, not renewable, and quite another to ask this question: In its service lifetime, does technology X return more energy than it cost to create (substitute: save more carbon than it cost)?
