From growing up watching my mother struggling with the daft administration she dealt with as a teacher, I pretty much agree with the overall thrust of this article. I personally enjoy teaching and have discussed many times with my wife that I should teach in my retirement from tech, but we both understand the pay is so little it doesn’t provide a realistic career option until after we’ve hit FIRE. We truly do treat teachers horribly in this country. That said, I think this article would have been better without irrelevant jabs at favored left-wing punching bags who have nothing to do with the main point.
