      The fact that the authors are salesmen? Their job is to sell policy, not to evaluate it, and glossy sales brochures are justifiably ridiculed and definitely off-topic here.

        ^ that. I'm so VERY done with right-wing/conservative think-tanks pushing their nonsense. And before we even take the tedious, well-trodden next step: No, from where I'm standing, the left does not indulge in similar behavior. Colbert was only half-joking when he stated that "reality has a well-known liberal bias"

  Surprise! surprise. surprise ... Just another mechanism like Jails, the medical systems, the welfare system etc When you are within a system of receiving say $1000 a month or maybe $10,000 a month while you the beneficiary remain ignorant and hooked on the "Universal basic income (UBI)" or welfare cheque, or free pills, or 'prison cell' yet the administrator keeps the rest - when will you wake up - educate yourself and claim the full beneficiary income??!! you deserve all you get - do you remain a plebeian (citizen) or work towards patrician (denizen)?
