Mathematical model of animal growth shows life is defined by biology, not physics
- goatsneez 4y ago...what about friction (i.e. biological equivalent of cell repair as well as diffusion of material flow into individual cells) as an energy consumer (to mention just one blatantly missing piece in the summary). This article description of the concept is so cherry picked as for me (a lay person in biology) is utmost skeptical that this is 'model shattering'. In fact, there is so many nature papers with solid network-based physical models explaining 'precisely' (in statistical sense) why physics fully constraints metabolic rate, its relation to total mass, heart beats, urine mass production, number of offsprings, length of circulatory system, nervous systems, etc.
