Fully agree. I do not like it either and the article sums it perfectly up. The best multitasting UI has been figures out: Windows taskbar with non-minimized and non-grouping window elements in the taskbar. This gives you the ability to put any app into the foreground with only one click, you see all windows that are open, close them easily and rearrange them. Plus, you see which apps are running and which apps are closed. And finally, it is very space-saving. I wished Apple would re-invent the dock+top bar+those 3 different window managers that are running in parallel.
