Adult content seems to have a position of being a second class citizen as far as general content is concerned, despite the fact that many adults consume it daily in one form or another, which is curious. In regards to VNs and pervy anime-styled titles, at least, I'm not surprised by this. Many Americans (and people from other countries) continue to balk at and reject Japanese attitudes to sexuality, and it continues to be reputational poison to champion such causes. It's probably more impressive that the Japanese content that got on Steam did so without much more uproar from somebody.
